Event Management Plan

If the Operational Plan contains a major event (or more than one), there may be a need to include an Event Management Plan among the Operational Plan's supporting documents.

An event management plan is basically an operational plan for an event. Every event requires planning to some extent but not every event requires a detailed and documented plan. A plan for a small local event involving only club members may be too simple to document. However an event that involves many hundreds of competitors, requires significant financial resources and uses of expensive facilities and equipment certainly would require a more formal plan that would document such features as:

Event budget

Program of activities

Facilities and equipment required

Hospitality for spectators

Recruitment and training of event officials

Schedules of event planning meetings

Promotion documentation

Protocols for media and visiting dignitaries
